Direct Channel Holdings (Pty) Ltd is South Africa's leading privately owned Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) service provider positioned to provide a range of contact centre solutions and business processing outsourcing services.
At a time when outsourcing of call centres and other business process outsourcing was in its infancy in South Africa, Direct Channel started in August 2001 as a small six seat call centre servicing just one client. The company has since successfully established its position within the South African market building a client list of top blue chip listed companies largely in financial services and banking, and also the insurance, telecoms, retail and automotive sectors.
Direct Channel has a fully fledged operation with world-class call centres across five sites nationally, two in Johannesburg, where the company's headquarters are located, one each in Durban, Cape Town and Worcester. The centre in Worcester is a Corporate Social Investment initiative in association with the South African Institute for the Blind and the Pioneer School for the Blind. The company's call centre operations handle over 50 million inbound and outbound calls per annum supported by a total capacity of just under 3000 call centre seats. The company's first operation outside of South Africa in Nairobi, Kenya is planned to launch in 2008. South Africa will remain the company's base and continue to account for the bulk of its growth, but locations in growing outsource markets Kenya, Ghana, Tanzania, Mauritius and Nigeria will become important contributors to Direct Channel achieving its growth objectives.
